I used to go to stamp conventions a few times a year and cut back on stamping. I am getting into it again and am thinking of going to Rubberama at the San Jose Convention Center next week. Any of you going to be there?

I do hundreds of holiday cards each year as I sell them on Ebay and at craft shows, so yes, I've started on the new ones. My first batch, still in the works, has as the main image a polar bear and cub staring up from an ice floe at the starlight sky, seeing one Star standing out among all the rest. I've stamped it in sienna brown Versafine on a kraft colored laid cardstock, am coloring the bears white with a Prismacolor pencil, and will highlight the big star with some combination of glitter colors. Don't know yet what the inside message will be.
I think the image comes from Magenta, but I'm not sure. My collection is just a bit, um, huge, so I lose track of which ones are from where unless I'm looking at them!
Do you have any of your work up online? If so, I'd love to see it.

Hi Karen - I hope your surgery went well and you are feeling great.
I had my sugery on 06/22 and feel pretty good - been working and staying busy.
I don't have any shows sheduled until August - which is great for me.
How long have you been a demo? I've been an SU demo for over a year now - and I really love it.

I havent' used vellum much with stamping but I do print journaling or verses on it and attach with eyelets or brads. For scrapbooks, there are other creative ways to conceal the adhesive. You can put die cut letters or diecuts that overlap the vellum and hide your adhesive underneath. Same with photos - just so a bit of the vellum is under some opaque object to hide the vellum.
Another thing I've started using is photo anchors, ribbon tied through holes and the good ole xyron!

I'm Karen. I'm a CTMH demo and in Houston, TX. I'm having my surgery on Tuesday this week! I was very happy to see the scrapping and stamping boards! Just wanted to say hi and then I'll disappear for a bit but I'll get back online as soon as I can.

I am thrilled. I just stumbled across the stamping message board! I can not believe how many SU demos have had WLS and even of more interest to me... banded. I am a demo too (3 years now) and was banded 3 weeks ago. Would love to talk Stamping with all of you. Actually it's funny because it was a SU demo that I met at Leadership in January that was banded and talked to me about really considering it and I only met her for a few minutes (someone who knew she was banded and knew I had researched it introduced us) and she is on this board! It is such a small world.
