Hmmmm good question. Be vocal about pointing out to them.. that it will cost them *less* in the long run. Thats what I did. Tell them that between heart disease.. mobility problems.. diabetes ... and stroke, that this surgery should be considered "preventitive medicine" (g) Good luck! Julia

This is a great group of people.. but I'm sure that you are finding that out You will be able to get a lot of information here... folks will tell it like it is, and not hold back. This suregery isn't for everyone. But for the ones that *do* decide to have it, it is literally life saving. My voice is coming back and I'm halfway to my goal weight. Hi I am new to the website and I am still in the contemplating stages. I too have noticed that I have a lot less breath control and my throat always feels like I have an egg in it. I have an appt with ENT next week and I am sure that it has a lot to do with Gastric Reflux since I have had it for soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many years and they have treated it on and off. CJ

I am a voice major right now and pre-op WLS. I have the worst breathe control ever, it drives me nuts and my teacher gets so irritated when I breathe in the wrong place. I am praying the WLS will help that. I only have 120 lbs to lose so I hope the difference on me will be as much as others voices.
