Topic: RE: Wenatchee WA WLS SUpport Group
Is this support group still going? I had RNY in Dec of 2012 at Madigan Army hospital and have since moved back to Wenatchee and would like to attend a support group.

Hi Girl, I know just what you are talking about, I have been overfilled for about 7mos. Can't get a new fill, because my Dr. moved out of the area. Maybe you can go back and ask to be unfilled a little. It is awful :barf:ing all of the time. I have lost a lot of weight, but it has started making me feel upset and starving all of the time. Please take care of yourself. Hope your well, Loretta

Hi Judy,
I'd call the doc. You sound overfilled to me. Right after a fill, you can have some swelling, but it's been three weeks since your last fill and any swelling that it caused should have resolved itself. 1/2 cc isn't a huge fill, but you might need to increase your fills in smaller increments.
I have never had the experience of being overfilled, but our fill nurse tells me it can happen even with a small fill.
This is sort of urgent 'cause you need to be able to get your water in. If you don't, you'll probably start losing energy and you increase your risk of kidney stones (I had 'em and hated em!). When I get dehydrated, I get dizzy and lethargic (blech) because my BP drops to ridiculously low levels.
HTH.
Topic: too full?
I had lap band surgery 6 mos. ago. I've lost 43 lbs and am so much healthier. My question is: my band holds 14 cc of saline. All was well with the first 4 cc. then my md put in 2 more at the next fill. That was was too much and caused vomiting daily. He removed 1 cc. I hardly knew I had the band and gained 5 lbs in a month. He injected 1/2 cc 3 weeks ago so my total is 5 1/2 cc so far. It was ok for about a week and seems to be tighter since then. Example: I ate about 3-4 bites of oatmeal nearly 2 hours ago and have been soooo uncomfortable since. In the last few minutes, things are getting better. Is this normal? I don't feel that the band has slipped or anything drastic has happened...I just stay so uncomfortable all the time. I can't get my liquids. I'm not really losing weight either. Crackers do ok, but any "normal" foods don't want to pass on through. I'm taking small bites and chewing well - I think! Got any hints?

Topic: RE: Lacey/Olympia WA or Tacoma WA
I think I'm replying to an old post of yours, but am wondering if you found a support group in Olympia yet. I had a DS on 1/31/08, and have been looking for a group that is not strictly lap banders.

I have surgery scheduled in March and am also looking for a support group in Olympia/Lacey/Tumwater area. If we can't find one, maybe we can start our own.

Topic: after surgery
Hi I haven't had surgery yet. I would like to know how some people did after surgery and how hard was it. I hope I'll be able to do this. Do you get headaches and bowel problems after? Is hard to lose weight and how long do you drink the protien drinks. I found one called banana cream it tastes really good. Can some one get back to me I would really appreciate it. Thank You,Alice
