Hi, I was so glad to find this board. I am thinking aboub going to back to school to get t teaching Cert in Ct. They have them there becasue they really need teachers. I already have a BA in Sociology and minors in Psych and social Work. I have been working with adults with developmental disabilities for the past 8 years now. I was thinking of getting a Cert in Early Child. Ed which would let me teach Pre-k to 3rd grade. I am looking into the program at Eastern Connecticut State Univ. and would want to teach on the eastern side of CT. I would love to hear from teachers in CT, from people who went to Eastern or just anyone who would like to share? I am really struggling over. I have heard that it is hard to find teaching jobs, wich I found odd because I keep hearing that we need more teachers. I would love your input. P.s. I would have to do Early Ed because I am such a lousy speller/typer ;) Kasey (-61)

There is a big need for teachers. However, most people want to go into early education. I suggest that you get on line for the CT Dept. of Education and checkout the job posting that some states have available. Look at the biggest need and see what speaks to your heart. Special education and speech are always good areas.
