Where are all the teachers PERIOD.
Hi Everyone,
I'm home sick today and thought I'd check in on the Teacher's board. We are a sad group. LOL We really need to start posting here more often. I know we must have enough in common to keep this board alive. My state board stays hopping with about 25 or more posts per day.
I'm thinking maybe a question of the day or a question of the week. Something that would pertain to teachers. I'll start it off with a question of the week and see if we can get any responses on that.
Christie
I think thats a great idea to have question of the week in here - I'd say most of us are creative - you have to be at least a little creative to teach, and most teachers are very creative - look at some of the crazy bulletin boards at some schools! Lets do the questions, and share frustrations and such.

368/256/168??
WOW WOMAN!! 239 pounds lost!! I am so happy for you.
I started at 340 last April; I am now 7 months post op and minus 108.
I hope to make it to 200 by my one year anniversary. Then the rest will be up to me working hard. I would love to be down to 155, but even 170 would be wonderful. Glad to meet you.

Hi Christie,
This is the first time for me on this message board. I'm always on the MI board. I know in Michigan we are some stressed out professionals. I have no idea what it's like in other states.
I just sent my youngest son to live with his dad in Sugar Land, TX. It took him 2 weeks to get him enrolled in school. Here in Detroit it takes less than an hour.
I'm happy to be on this board. What's up with everyone?!?!
Love, Collette
P.S. Wow just loooked and your message it's almost 3 weeks old.
I'm going to Dunkin to get a nice hot cup of coffee because it's cold
here in the Motor City.
Hi Collette,
Welcome to the teaching board. It sounds like you are certainly stressed to the max. I know you said it was very stressful for teachers in your state and I think that's the same for most teachers across the country. But, I would have to say that I'm not near as stressed as some. I work in a small rural school with high test scores and much parental involvement.
I have only been teaching for two years. I was in advertising before I decided to teach. My stress was MUCH higher then, so was the pay. But, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

I just found this board!! I think I'll check in more often! The California Board is always hopping with two to three pages of posts a day!! Now that the first semester is almost over, and my first show is DONE (I'm a High School Theatre teacher), maybe I'll have a few more minutes to check other boards!!
Teaching is also my second career...was an Administrative Assistant for 20-something years before I finished my degree and decided to get into teaching. This is my 11th year!
Hope you have a great winter break!
