Topic: RE: Where are all the teachers PERIOD.
I think thats a great idea to have question of the week in here - I'd say most of us are creative - you have to be at least a little creative to teach, and most teachers are very creative - look at some of the crazy bulletin boards at some schools! Lets do the questions, and share frustrations and such.

My pouch isn't as sensitive as some - (could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it) I eat whatever kind of meat they are serving in the school cafeteria, unless its fried, then I eat their salad choice. I just never remember to bring my lunch. I usually have a skimmed milk also for the protein - I lose more when I drink milk.

Hey all!
Usually I eat 1-2 boiled eggs, a cheese stick, and maybe some dried fruit.
I have also do a really small lean cuisine or some such. I can manage about 1/3 of a taco bell taco salad (no shell),
Sometimes I do leftovers. Luckily neither my wife nor I have struggled with that since our WLS.
About 2 months out (beginning of the school year), I struggled with eating at work. I rushed too much and couldn't keep things down. Oh how things have changed.
Best of luck all.

I have to be very careful re heating left overs. Turkey or chicken can dry out and cause trouble. I do keep an eye on it. The best thing to reheat for me is soup. I make two or three different kinds and we always have some in the fridge for quick, nutritious meals.

Hi Kimberly,
It appears you can do one thing I can't...eat leftovers. I can eat leftovers so long as I do NOT reheat the meat in the microwave. If I reheat in the microwave it will not go down and stay down. I guess it dries it out. I do love my string cheese to snack on also.

HI Monet,
I will be thinking of your hubby this week and hope things go well with his surgery on Tuesday. Please be sure and let me know how he's doing. You guys will have the lowest food bill in town now. Go grocery shopping each week and buy 1 dozen eggs, 7 Lean Cuisine dinners, a pack of string cheese, 5 canisters of Crystal Light, and two cases of water. Notice the carts next time you go shopping...it seems I can spot other WLS folks now.

Hi Christie,
I hope we can get this teacher board hopping! My favorite thing to eat for lunch is left over dinner.....a little bit of what ever I cooked the day before. Most times it is some kind of soup. String cheese is my snack food.

i normally eat part of a lean cuisine or smartones dinner. i can barely get half of one down during my lunch time, so i usually would just give the rest of it to my husband (he and i work at the same school). however, giving all those 'extras' to my husband now has to stop as he just had wls on tuesday. he plans to return to work week after next. i guess we'll both just take one of those microwavable dinners to school each day and share it. at least that cuts down on the cost of lunch!

Hey Diana,
We are neighbors for sure. I really have done so much better at school than I ever thought I would. It's funny too, I can eat faster there than I can at home without getting sick. Some nights at home it takes me 45 minutes to eat.
Are you attending the dinner on Dec. 4th in Anniston?
Christie
p.s. Thanks so much for responding to the question.
