Hi there patricia, I just read your post on the teachers message and was excited to hear about someone so like myself. I am a special education teacher as well. I too began my education early childhood and ended up teaching special ed. So have you had the RNY surgery yet or are you just beginning the process? I have been overweight most of my life as well. I was a chubby child and grew into an fat adult. I had surgery on the 15th of July. I waited for 8 years to have it done and 3 insurance companies. I got sick of waiting so I took matters into my own hands and had it done. So far it has been great, I would love to corresond if you would like too!

Topic: I am a Special Education Teacher
Hi my name is Patricia and I went to school to teach early education but ended up as a Special Education teacher I love it. I have been overweight since I had my first child and developed a thyroid problem that the military was unable to find. Finally three children later and a retirement from the military a Family Doctor found that I had a thyroid problem and that is why I couldn't lose weight. Well I was placed on medication but still had trouble losing weight. I have tried every diet there is and have failed to keep what I do lose off.
