O.K. Everyone we need to liven up this board.
I have three questions for everyone to answer if your game.
1. What was your most memorable teaching moment (good or bad your choice)?
2. What are you doing to keep yourself learning?
3. What do you see for yourself in five years (teaching or something else your choice)?
1. What was your most memorable teaching moment (good or bad your choice)?
I teach SPED and will never forget the day that my 6th grade student finally understand multiplcation after working on it for three months. He didn't want to move on for a long time, he was having to much fun.
2. What are you doing to keep yourself learning?
I am going to start to work on my masters in SPED starting in the spring. My school is offering to pay for it.
3. What do you see for yourself in five years (teaching or something else your choice)?
Having my masters completed and working as a SPED coordinator.
So who is game?
1. one of my most memorable moments was when I worked with an autistic child. I started with him in kindergarten and went through to his 6th grade year. He went from nothing to reading at a 12th grade level and highly proficient in so much. I ran into his mom yesterday at Walmart and she grabbed me and gave me a big hug. He calls me every so often to let me know how he is doing in school. His mom told me that he is in a Resource class mainly for writing, but he is in regular classes for everything else. He has 1 A, 3 Bs, 1 C and unfortunately 1 D (in history). But he came so far and I'm glad I was able to be part of that.
2. I go to trainings, read a lot and occassionally take a class. I would love to go back and get my Masters and Doctorate. Not sure if that will happen. How do you get money to pay for it. I'm so jealous that your school is paying for it.
3. I see myself getting ready for retirement and looking for new things to do. I will volunteer in school, but my husband and I are also going to travel a lot and spend lots of time with our 8 grandchildren and 5 children.
