Today I had a wonderful thing happen.. totally unrelated to weight loss... well kinda. You all know how I luv the Goodwill... I had some pants that were too long... probably 5 pair... but two I really really loved. They were wayyy to long. I was going to get them taken up, but who could do it? My seamstress passed away last year and she was the best tailor I have ever known. I miss her still. Anyway, I decided... let me just tear these apart and try to hem them... one had cuffs, something I have never done. And the other, well I'm just not so great on hemming slacks... khakis are easy for me... I'm only a beginner sewer. I was able to cuff both pairs of pants and also they look pretty good! I am so happy for this accomplishment...

I'm like you! I don't do a lot of sewing either. But I can hem and sew a button back on if I have to. Congratulations!! You go girl! Janie

Congrats! I learned to hem out of necessity. Being 5'2" with a big bottom, I always have to get stuff to fit the butt and them hem them! I've got 5 pairs right now that I need to have get done. I just don't want to take the afternoon to do them. Jus****ch, next thing you know, you'll be making curtains or something else for around the house!

Hi Mel, you'll have to wear one at the lunch on Saturday. I hate the mending part, but actually make outfits when I had a sewing machine. I made all my sons t-shirts and shorts when they were toddlers. I am proud of you for doing it for yourself. Just think what you can do with a pattern and a sewing machine. You go girl. See you on Saturday. Love Kathy
