PF Chang's last night

After my support group meeting last night, I went out with a couple of the other ladies. First time I had ever been to PF Chang's but I LOVE Chinese food. We couldn't decide on one dish to share so we each ordered and we ate off of each other's platters. So, you can imagine 3 WLS patients with a full entree each. We had each eaten our fill and our plates looked like they had hardly been touched. The waitress came by and made a comment about us not eating. Pam told her we were full. Her reply was that we must be saving room for dessert. So Pam told her that there was a good reason we were full, we had all had Gastric Bypass. The waitress told us she knew several people who had had that done and went off to get boxes to prepare our leftovers to take home. When she came back to the table she said, (this is so sweet) "If it isn't too personal, and please tell me if I'm out of line, but how long ago did you each have your surgery?" Well, Pam is 6 years out, Sheila is just over 2 years and I am 13 months out. She told us she had wondered because we were all so little. LITTLE!!!!! I love that word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW - she got a very good tip! So today I am having Lemon Chicken and Broccoli for lunch and sharing it with a co-worker.

I've always wanted to try PF Chang's but just haven't had the opportunity. It sounds soo yummy! LOL I love Chinese....especially pre-op, but now I don't have it very often because of all the salt.. makes me retain water and I see it on the scale as "weight gain" even though I know it is water weight..a little neurotic if I say so myself lol

One of the things that is so great about going out to eat with people who are farther out from surgery is that you feel more comfortable trying new things. In addition to my Lemon Chicken (which was marvelous Tuesday night but didn't sit well reheated for lunch), I also had one of the shrimp from Pam's Kung Pao shrimp & scallops and part of a prawn from Sheila's Salt & Pepper Prawns. If I remember right, you like spicy right? Both of their dishes were spicy, especially the Kung Pao! Wonderful flavor though. We also shared an order of Lettuce Wraps.
