What happened? Weigh-in woes...
Don't get discouraged. Sometimes our bodies need time to adjust to all the changes. I was totally obessed in beginning with weighing and was so disappointed when I stalled or even sometimes would gain. This is normal but very hard on you. Try weighing once a week or start measuring yourself. Sometimes although the lbs go no where you are losing inches. Keep up the good work you are doing great !!
Dont sweat it girlie! We all have little plateaus. Ignore the scale. Use a measuring tape. Pay attention to inches. Check what you are eating and make sure carbs and calories are in control. And keep exercising. Give the body time and that scale will move again. Dont let it get ya down, just keep going. In the grand scheme of things, this is just a speed bump.
Hugz!
Remember what Shelia said Tuesday night about her body being at a weight it remembers? Because we are losing so rapidly, our bodies will often get to a place they "remember" and are comfortable at and try to stay there. Just keep doing what you know you need to do and the scales will start moving again. Once your body figures out that you have not changed anything it will give it up and you will see a drop on the scales.
Check your measurements or the fit of your clothes. You are very good about your exercise. Even though the scales may not move, I would bet that you are losing inches. A pound of muscle is much smaller than a pound of fat.
Alyssa, two good suggestions.
First, pull out your tape measure (sewing one, not the construction kind)... and take your new measurements.. I hope you took them already before surgery... then add up all your inches lost.
Second, have someone take a new picture. Put it next to your "before" picture. Does wonders every time...
These two suggestions will get you throuh the tough times when it seems like the scales are working against you.
I've had to lean on both for two months. My scales finally felt sorry for me and gave me a mercy loss of one pound. However, my tape measure likes me MUCH better! So does my camera.
I think everyone else covered it...I really believe we have all been there. I am there now, lol, scales will not budge a bit and driving me crazy but my clothes continue to get looser so I really think it's because as I lose fat, I am building muscle and as we all know, muscle weighs more than fat. If you are exercising faithfully, it could be that you have built muscle and it's weight is more that the fat...yet the tape measure will show smaller...hang in there!
