Help!!! Anyone have any ideas?
Hi guys...I have been exercising a lot...even got told by Jamie at Dr. Houston's that I was doing too much and I needed to slow down...but I have gotten addicted to the feeling and feel downright guilty when I can't do my four miles in the morning. Friday morning, I did three brisk miles and was feeling fine when I went to do some errands. I went to pick up some Girl Scout items from the council leader and then to the post office. At the post office, I noticed my knee was slightly sore but no biggie...it pops out of place all the time and I just pop it back in, it's sore for a day or so, and I go on. It happened a week or so ago but I didn't have any soreness so I'm not sure if it was just delayed soreness or what, but coming out of the post office it started hurting so bad and then just went out on me and I fell off the last two steps. So I laid off the exercise for two days and went out this morning again for three miles...did fine, got inside and boom...out again. So I obviously am going to have to give it some time to heal. In the meantime...does anyone know of any way to do any cardio when you can't actually move your bottom half? I am so frustrated...I finally get to exercising like I should have been my whole life and this happens!
What about swimming?? That will work your entire body! I haven't been in a pool since lord knows when..sounds like I just might take it up myself :-)
I hope your knee gets to feeling better. My joint that connects my thigh and hip makes a popping sound all the time.. I think it might be from the repetitiveness of my exercise routine..I have been doing the same routine since I was 4 months out from surgery. But at any rate... if you're going to just take a break for a couple of days...focus on upper body toning - stomach and arms, shoulders, etc. They say your suppose to rotate weights and cardio between every other day anyways.
I got bad knees and have been working out in the pool. You can even jog in place without hurting the joint. But..already having a bad problem you might need ot check with Jamie first.
Life is a string of problems, held together by moments of pure bliss. Enjoy the moment it may be your BLISS!

Hey Kym I had to have a scope done on my right knee as it would go out and down I would go. The pain was horrible. The Surgeon found that just under the knee cap there was a part that had chipped off and caused a hole there. He went in and was able to sand it to smooth out the chipped area. I was on crutches (me with no balance) for a few days. Now I am in Therapy because it has gotten worse. Even to just curl up or sit indian style I can't straighten out my knee. I sincerely hope you find out why it's going out on you. I have telling my ortho Dr.'s since 1998 about it and that just before it goes out, the knee turns towards the left knee causing the hip to lock up. I have to wear a brace now.
I wish and pray that your's get better. But I would still recommend getting it checked out. Love ya
