How much exercise are you doing? My NUT told me that exercise and drinking the water helps keep things "moving". I have noticed this true because when having gall bladder attacks I hurt to much to exercise and became constipated asa soon as gall stone gone and started exercising again things got better. You may also try taking some Fiber and see if that helps.

Shelia I have to say that I LOVE reading your posts, your smily guys make me laugh too!  I haven't had this surgery and I have never went more than 2 days without having a BM. Is it normal after this surgery NOT to have BM's as often??  Also have you tried the new type of laxitavite it's liquid and they are showing commercials about it all the time on channel 2 during my One life to live and General Hospital soap... I'll find it today and write it down and write it again.  MiraLax is what it was called sorry took so long for me to find the name of it! Anyway hoping you feel much better and less hurting!!! Hugs, Angie

Angie, To answer your question...from my experience and talking to others constipation is a very common issue with wls.  I'm just under 5 weeks out and my BM's have gotten better  but  all the protein you will be eating causes most of the issues.   Getting enough water and exercising will help but it's not unusual to go a few days without a BM even then  that's when you pull out the Benefiber, eat some oatmeal or something else with fiber or whatever works for you.  The olive oil tip sounds promising.    Although it's not my favorite thing to experience it really has been, at least for me, a minor complicaton.
