I'm moving

Hi everyone. Y'all know I have been waiting on Section 8 to inspect the apartment that I submitted my application for. They have dragged their heels for 6 weeks and still have not set an inspection date.  The Metro office won't return phone calls, I never know who to ask for as they keep changing case managers. They can never tell me when I do get a voice where or whom has my file.  I have even contacted HUD in Memphis where Section 8 gets their money to help pay the rent.  I was also smart enough to put my name on the Lebanon housing list. Well today, they called and my name came up for a one bedroom apartment. I pay my rent and deposit on Friday, the 4th of July I head for east of Knoxville to rent a truck and bring my things back here on the 11th. I won't be able to afford the electric deposit until the first of August, so I will be just going over there and work on unpacking, and getting everything settled before I officially move in.  With having leukemia and menier's disease (severe dizzy spells, and no balance) I figure it would be better to get it all done before living in it and falling over everything.  One could get hurt that way and I certainly don't need any other problems. If it comes to the point where someone has to stay with me because of the two diseases, the housing projects will move me into a 2 bedroom, but for now it's just a one bedroom. I also finished what can be done in physical therapy for my balance.  Still have problems with the dizzy spells and it's not because I'm a blonde.  I heard that laughter Daniel.  Well one ear heard it, I am losing my hearing in the right ear.  It's a good thing I know some sign language and will be learning more just in case it's needed.   I'm still in physical therapy for my right knee from the scope.  Stairs are my biggest problem, not just for the pain in my knee, but because of the ear disease.   Don't get me wrong on this, I love my sons and I have enjoyed my extended stay with my older son and my 2.5 yr old grandson.  But I need time to myself and my own bedroom and bed. So when I need my down time I'm not taking up the couch where no one can sit down. I don't even own one, just 2 wicker chairs, and wicker loveseat, or and my recliner when I want to relax and put my feet up.  Thank y'all for the support and prayers that I be able to get moved into an apartment of my own.  This will put me abut 45 minutes give or take to either of my sons.  Plus I already know of two wls females living in lebanon.  Kelligirl and Julie Gray. Julie hasn't posted in a long while but hopefully I'll be able to get to meet her or both and get them to come to ur luncheons.  Must get to bed, eyes are geting blurry.   Always

Congrats on your move!!........Have you considered calling your church for some help in getting your utilities cut on?........Most churches have a fund for things like that..........You should have moved on down to  Jackson,TN ....LOTS of VERY nice Section 8 places...and the lists are not too long.............Jackson has lots  of public transportation too...if you need that...and great hospitals and doctors........If I ever move I am heading to Jackson.....................I understand wanting to be close to your kids...........TTYL............................Leticia

Work like you don't need the money......

Hi Leticia, Jackson is a little far for my Oncology appointments and far enough away that I wouldn't be able to see my sons or grandsons very often.  This way I am only 45 minutes from either of them. Plus I am close to all my Dr.'s in Smyrna.  Thanks anyways. Kathy

Hi Juanita, thank you.  I'm not crazy about having to move back into the projects but hey at least it will be my own place and close to both sons and grandsons, and more importantly close to my Dr.'s in Smyrna.  That's what is important.  I can manage that for a while.  Tell Daniel hi for me.  love ya, Kathy

Hi Kathy,   Have been wondering about you. Glad you are getting your own place. Everyone needs their personal time & space. Hope you will like your new place.    Maybe someday they will have your health under control. You have sure been through a lot. How is the tummy tuck surgery? Take care, Ellen

Hi Ellen, i'll be glad to get settled so I can move in. Not crazy about moving back into the projects, like going backwards in my life and not forward.  But apparently this is where God wants me to be.  As for the tummy tuck,  doing great.  It's been two months, and the scar is slowly fading away.  I just keep putting Cocoa Butter with Vitamin E, Wheat Germ, Aloe, and sunscreen lotion on it several times a day like when I go to the bathroom.  It's no longer deep red or puckered.  I go to the VA hospital on Friday to get my name back on the referral list for the surgeon to do something about my thighs.  When I am on my stomach, I have to put a cushion acrossed it, or pain city in the pubic region. The pain comes from the pelvic bones as I am tight in the stomach.  Need to get busy, having a surprise baby shower this evening, and I still have loads to do before the honored couple shows up thinking they are just coming over for dinner.    have a great day. Love Kathy

Congrats on the new appartment!  I also thought about the church fund to help, also you mentioned that you don't own a couch have you checked at the good will store?  I found a $2.00 couch there it's not the fanciest and I put another $4.00 into foam for the cusions but it sits okay.  Just might be something to think about looking around at.  They also have awesome deals on plates, glasses, silverware, you can get a set of 4 plates for like $1.00 they only cost $0.25 cents each.  Not sure on how much the silverwear is but might be something to look into.  I'm an all deal person, I don't have all that much money coming in because I haven't been able to find a job yet so I'm on disability for my vision (legally blind).  So what money I do have I like to spend wisely.  I love good will store, and dollar general, and for some stuff even walmart I like that they have VO5 shampoo for the cheapest around here lol. Hope you like the new place and everything goes okay with the move!! Hugs, Angie
