What is AO?
OOOOOOO I love coffee..... Could you tell me where to buy it? I bought some of that chocolate whey protien powder at Wal Mart ( in a huge gallon jug) just to get an idea of what protien powder is. It is drinkable but not great and not very filling either.
Looking forward to meeting you someday Juanita.
Hoping to have surgery, Adrienne
We don't have a calendar of events. We just post them here on the board. Our next luncheon will be July 14th at a yet to be decided location in the Cool Springs area.
As for AO...if you are a coffee drinker, you will love this stuff. AO is short for AchievOne. It is like the Starbucks Frappuccino in the little glass bottles (but, in my opinion it tastes even better and I am a Starbucks junkie). It has 20 grams of protein in a 9.5 oz serving for 120 calories, 0 fat, and 5 carbs. It comes in 4 flavors; cappuccino, mocha java, vanilla nut, and hazelnut.
The only place that carries it in the Nashville area is a little store on Murfreesboro Rd called "It's All Sugar Free". Connie & John Coe own the store and now carry a lot of the products that we love and have only been able to purchase online in the past.
Hope we get to meet you at our next luncheon.

ACK!!!! One of these days I will learn to scroll down for the rest of the message. I just asked Juanita all the info you just supplied me ( if you see this Juanita please forgive me ) I will try and find that store then as it sounds like a good alternative for an allowable snack and I am sure I can find other protien goodies. yum yum...lol. I have never had Starbucks so I will take your word for it . Can you tell me a lil bit about these luncheons? Are they casual dress? Is it a order your own meal or do we bring liquids or what?
Looking forward to meeting you too!
Thanks, Adrienne

Our luncheons are so casual. If they got any more casual, we'd all be in our jammies.
We meet at a restaurant and either order on our own or 2 (or more) people may order an entree together. It's pretty much whatever you want to do. We only go to places that we know have foods we can eat so we don't do Italian and haven't done Mexican either. Most of us know what is on the various menus and can make suggestions for any stage of post-op. We go to places like Logan's, Chili's, etc. This is a good way for pre-ops and new post-ops to learn how to eat post-op.
After lunch - and a lot of talking!! - we go outside and have a group picture taken (you can check out my profile for pictures of past luncheons) and then we usually have some clothes to swap/give away and Shelia or Connie usually brings some stuff from It's All Sugar Free that we can purchase if we want to.
Last month a few of us went over to the store after the luncheon and hung out with Connie for a while. We ran into Janice (Jancy) and got to meet her, and we shopped, tried some new products, etc.
It's all very relaxed and laid back. Just an opportunity for us to get face to face with each other and get better acquainted.

Hi,
My battery is low, so I will make this very short and sweet. The store's number is 399-5154 and they just got a shipment of the Hazelnut AO and the company that makes it will not have more until the latter part of July. Therefore if you think you might want some, you may want to call soon and reserve some. She also has the Matrix protien powder and it is the best Chocolate and Cookies and Creme I have ever tasted.
Hope this helps,
Shelia

I thought Connie didn't get her Cookies & Creme Matrix? Did it come after we got off the phone?
