My 11 year old son received a Congressional Honor, he was nominated based on his academic and leadership abilities, he is in the less than 1% of students from across the nation to be nominated and selected by a special Congressional Committee to receive this honor. He flew out today for
Baltimore, MD. He has just called to let me know he landed safely, was meet at the gate by the staff member and has gotten his luggage, I miss him already, he returns on Friday. He is scheduled to meet President Bush on Wednesday, as long as his schedule does not change as well as several other political figures from
Tennessee and across the country. He will also be going to
Philadelphia to see all of the American historic sites; he will be visiting
Harpers Ferry, WV , and all of DC as well. This is the first time he has ever flown alone and been away by himself (for security purposes, parents are not allowed to attend, I could go, but would not be able to go with him on the tours), I am already a nervous wreck. Please keep us in your prayers as he will be just fine, but MOM will be the one going without sleep and having problems with it all until his plane lands on Friday and I have him safely in my arms. I am a very proud MOM and he is a wonderful child and I trust him very much, I know this is a wonderful opportunity for him. He did have 4 others on his flight today, all from all over
Tennessee . Therefore, we had 5 students representing
Tennessee and receiving this Congressional Honor!!! GO
TENNESSEE STUDENTS !!!
