Hey Mel, congradulations.  I am so excited for you.  You should be able to go home the same day, unless you're like me and have your oxygen drop while asleep and have to stay over for the night.  I wish you joy in this next journey.  Once the staples come out, wait about 1-2 weeks then start applying Vitamin E and Aloe to the scar.  It helps to soften the scar and fade it so it's not so bad.  Mine is already fading. I apply it every time I have to go to the bathroom, which is a lot when on water pills.  LOL  Most surgeons prefer to wait until it's been over a year, you're lucky to be getting it done before your first birthday.  You go girl.
