Pleas help me.  No weight loss since surgery.  I am eating everything that the dietician wanted and I am not cheating.  I cannot hold all the food.  Please help me...anybody.

You're fine. You just had MAJOR surgery. Your body is more than likely in shock, in starvation mode, not wanting to give up the weight that it loves so much. There is no way you will NOT lose weight. Give it time.

Hang in there Brenda!  It will happen.  My wife is 7 weeks out and it took awhile before things started moving, but give it time!  If you need anything, this is the place to ask!  You will be in our prayers!  Thumbs Up

Brenda, They are right, you have just had major surgery, let your body catch up with you.  Keep doing what the nut says, DON'T GIVE UP.  You need to keep on keeping on and don't let that food demon convince you that the surgery is not working so you might as well eat.  I promise you will begin to lose weight and catch up with where you think you should be in no time. Thanks to all of you for your encouragement and support.  I appreciate it!!  I have a lot of fatigue, is that normal?  My lap band surgery was 8 1/2 hours long...that may be why I am so tired.

I agree with everyone. It takes time for your body to "catch up" with everything that was done during surgery. Just be patient and belive me you will lose wieght. Yes fatigue is very common at your stage so don't push yourself to hard do a little at a time and take it a step at time. Welcome to the Loser's BENCH!!!

I'm 9 weeks out and your body does have to "catch" up.  I had really good results the first week (27 pounds) but I went for 4-5 weeks without losing anything else....but now I'm losing.  Hang in there!  Just remember there is no way you can't lose when your eating less that 700 calories a day.   ...and on the "energy" question about being tired, if you can ...make sure you are getting 60-80 grams of protein a day ....this helped my energy level tremendously!

Brenda: I'm a new post-op too.  When I got home from the hospital, I weighed in front of my husband for the very first time ever!  I had gained 13 pounds!!!  We both just laughed...only I could gain 13 pounds on ice chips and IV fluid!!!

Relax, we're gonna be fine...it just takes some of us longer than others. Big happy smile! Freddie

Freddie,            Did I not warn you about the weight gain after you get home from the hospital after surgery?  If I did not, I am so very sorry, I gained 10 pounds from the time I got home from the hospital, strange huh!!!   This is normal, it will come off and come off it does, if you cross your t's and dot your i's!!!
