Laughing, crying, scared, excited... I read those exact words just now on this board. That's how I feel! My surgery is on August 27th at Baptist with Dr Spaw. I am having a Lap Band. How do I deal with this emotional rollercoaster right now? I know God is with me, I know I will be just fine. But my shivers had shivers when I read her post! I feel like I am struggling through those protein drinks.... and Healthy Choice.. hunger strikes again! lol Thank you all so much for this wonderful board!!

Hi Ddee, First, Congratulations on your surgery date.  I will right behind you on Aug. 24th.  Like you I will be having the lap band.  I know exactly how you are feeling because I am feeling the same way.  I am excited but scared.  Rejoice but terrified.  But in the end it is something that I want to do and God will be with me on this long journey.  Let me know how you are doing.  We will be recovering about the same time.  Lisa

Congratulations!  I have my lap band on 9/4 with Dr. Lynch.  I feel the same as you do.

I would suggest, lots of prayer, cleaning, packing away clothes that you will not be able to wear again, because they will be waaaaaay to BIG!!  These are just a few things that I did, to help me through the last few weeks.  If you need anything, this board is great, but you already know that (LOL)!!! Congratulations Ddee! That is exactly how I felt nearly two years ago!!!  The pre-op diet was hell!  I was hungry all the time and when stressed I wanted to eat so that made it worse stressing out about the surgery!  For me the pre-op was the hardest part.  This board and the lap band board were life-savers for me in keeping my sanity while waiting for my surgery.  :-)

Way to go Ddee! It will be here before you know it!  Before my wife had surgery, it was almost like it was when she was pregnant!  she started nesting and getting the house ready for the new person that was coming home!  This time it will be a new loser walking through the doors, not a baby! I believe you need a visit from the "Happy Dancer"!  Congrats Ddee!  Oh yeah, I appreciate the things you said in the PM!  Thanks Dancing guy

LOL>>>you sound so much like most of us when we got this close to surgery!  What a rollercoaster ride we all take,huh...you will be fine and we will all be here for you the whole ride long.  As for the protein drinks, your taste will change and you'll be able to tolerate things you can't stand now...and don't forget how awesome some of the new ones are, we'll take care of you, we promise!

Pre-surgery weight: 316  Current weight: 122
