Who's had gastric sleeve?

I would like to hear from any of you who had Gastric Sleeve surgery?  My surgery was July 3 in Nashville.  Have lost 42 pounds.   Rose

Kathy-Gastric sleeve surgery is where they remove 90% of the stomach.  Does not reroute.  Just makes the size  of stomach smaller.  I can only eat about 1/2 cup or about 3-4oz at a meal.  The sleeve surgery is not covered by  most insurance company but it is slowly gaining favor with some companies.   Also there is no dumping.

I imagine once it becomes more popular, then the insurance companies that allow the gastric bypass will allow the gastric sleeve.  I never had dumping so I can only be thankful on that subject.  We can only eat about 1 cup a day with the gastric.  I'm sure I  eat more then a cup, but I can't weigh my food, the scales melted on the gas stove.  thanks for letting me know what it was.  Learn something new every day.   Kathy
