I have to vent. A month ago, I posted a "Got My Denial:. Actually I didn't but my surgeons office e-mailed me to tell me. I have not messed with the appeal because most of you know I had surgery on my arm a few weeks ago. I was waitng on the appeal until I got the arm over with.
I called my insurance today to tell them I didn't receive my denial letter. Ends up in Aug. my surgeons office & I received a letter from my insurance stating my 10% weight loss letter from my pcp needed to be more detailed. Like the dates I weighed in, amount lost & diet followed. I called insurance & they said my surgeons office should contact my pcp & tell them what they needed & fax it to them. Found out today my caseworker never contacted my pcp. After a month the insurance sent a denial because of lack of info. I can't believe she just let me think I was denied because of not necessary.
I think today I am calling to setup a appointment with Dr. Weaver in Memphis. Several that post here used her & loved her. Her office handles the appeal too. My original surgeons office did not do the appeals.
Anyway I feel better in one way but ill as heck in another.
Ellen Ellen,
Hon I know you are heated I know I would be after all they put you through. I only have one question. Is there someone you can complain or report your case worker to? As I said to you before seems to me she does not want to do her job and I personally think she needs a reality check. I wish you luck with Dr Weaver maybe they will be abbel to get you approved quickly.

Thanks Juanita for always being here for me. As soon as I get where I want, I am turning her in. Dr. Madan gave each of us his personal e-mail. She just e-mailed me to see if she can help me. I just forwarded her the e-mail in Aug. where I told her what BCBS needed her to do. She just wrote that my pcp sent a up-dated letter in June. I wrote & said yes, but this one is another needed for Aug. I am waiting on a reply. I don't know to mess with her or start all over. I have my $2,500 deductible in from my arm surgery so, if I could get approved & have surgery in 07 it will not cost me a dime.

Thanks Scott. I wish the best for you too. You seem to be doing good without the surgery. I lost 30 to loose my 10% but have gained it all back. lol

Hi & thanks Leticia,
You have been a big supporter. I know you are right about dumping that office. She e-mailed & asked if there is anything she can do to help. I said yes, call BCBS & tell them you never contacted my pcp about the 10% loss information. She said I will call in the morning & tell you what I find out. I guess I will mess with her tomorrow & see what happens.
Ellen
