Question about Christmas luncheon/dinner

I looked at the FAAD's party bus site and figured it would be about 20 to 30 dollars plus dinner if we did that, we could have dinner somewhere, get on the bus, because we would have to rent it for 4 hours @ 200.00 an hour, go to Opryland see the lights, take a tour of the lights around Nashville, party on the bus, what ever we would like to do.  I know this is pricey, but unless someone has a location we could use, it will be pricey during the holidays anywhere we go. Suggestions anyone!!! Shelia

Ok, just had a funny image go thru my mind.  Get on the bus with a cooler of protien drinks and party.  LOL  I only say that cuz in college it was a cooler of beers etc.  Just made me laugh to think about it....would cut the overall cost.. no dinner bills.. haha.. ya'll have a great week at work and a happy monday tomorrow..

I have contacted Rayn's Steakhouse, I know that they have a room, not sure if they charge for it. I also, contacted the Stockyard Rest. dowtown, theirs might be a little more than we are wanting to pay. I kinda thought about Red Lobster, Olive Garden  to see what they had. Just some idea's that I had and Barb had mentioned Friday night about Ryans. One other concern that I have is that if we go somewhere that involves alot of walking, I will need to have my scooter with me. I hope that I am not being a pain, but I can only walk a little ways without my legs hurting. By us starting this early surely we can figure something out. If we had a place like a clubhouse at some apartment complex, then we could cater dinner in there. I know that Famous Daves, does a great job on catering. I am not sure if people like that type of food around Christmas or not. I usually do because we have too much Turkey and Ham in Nov. and Dec. Just some more thoughts...Cheryl.

How about Ellendales or the Plantation Restuarants (I really don't care for the Plantation-Donelson area, but they have large party rooms).  I think Amerigo's might have a room for us as well.  I love the ornament swapping idea! I'm making ornaments as we speak.

We had my mom's 80th birthday at Mere Bulles in Maryland Farms.  It was lovely and we didn't have to pay an additional fee for the room.  You do have to guarantee a certain dollor figure on food cost and choose a menu but the room was no additional charge.  We had about 35 - 40 people.

We went to Amerigo's recently with work...  and the meeting room would definitely hold us... it has two tables in the room we were in that held about 12 people, really 10 comfortably, but they had another room that was larger. I wasnt sure if that was  aprivate room or not... food was ok. Mere Bulls sounds good too.

I checked out Mere Bulles website for prices. It looks like it could easily be 50-60 per couple, depending on what you order. That is leaning to the pricey side for us, but for once a year I think we can handle it. Like someone else said just about anywhere we go may tend to be a little pricey that time of the year. I am still waiting on Ryan's Steakhouse and  The Stockyard Rest. to get back with me. Any other ideas/comments folks? Hope all is having a great Monday..........Cheryl

I love these ideas, as long as it's not a Saturday afternoon...I can be there...The only free Saturday I have is Thanksgiving weekend, and class I think is over on the 8th.
