Let me introduce myself

Hi, My name is Marilyn.  Even though my profile says that I have been a member for YEARS, I only started coming to OH about a month ago.  I live in Sevier county, just outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  I work as a nurse at a local hospital. I have finally come to the conclusion that I have no choice but to have the surgery.  I had my EGD yesterday, and it looks like everything is a go.  I see Dr. Bolar later this month, and hopefully can get surgery scheduled soon.  Since I am private pay, there are no insurance loops to jump through.

Welcome to the group Marilyn. I too was a self pay. The process goes so smooth and with lightning speed being self pay. Strap in and hold on you will be joining us on this side very soon. Congrats on your decision. I have not looked back on my decision to have surgery a single time. It is the best decision for ME.

We're so glad you decided to come out and join us. I think you will find that not one of us regret our decision to have this life changing surgery. Let us know when you get your date. Ask all of the questions you want to. Your surgeon can tell you how he is going to operate, we can tell you how to live after the surgery. We are always here to listen, cheer and support. We also have some awesome protein recipes and tips.

Hello everyone, My name is Angela I am 28 years old and been seeking WLS since, well aprox 5 years now.  I have been turned down by 2 diff insurances through past employers.  However I am now on the road to getting WLS approved by my current insruance carrier (First Health).  I had to do 6 mo of "supervised" diet/excersie program through my doctor.  My final visit is on 11/16/2007, then all my papers go to the insurance for a decision.  Please keep me in your prayers for it has been a long journey for me. 

Angela, all of the hoops you must jump through is worth it for the outcome, being a LOSER!!!  I am so glad that you have joined us, we are a great group that have all been through or going through what you are going through or will go through, therefore we are here for you!!!! Hi Guys, Thanx so much for the great welcome.  I do have SOOOOOO many questions.  I will try to post them as I think of them.  Does anyone here live in my area?
