Hi my dear friends. I am so very sorry that I have not been able to keep in better touch. I finally got charter internet and my phone on yesterday. I still have the same phone number. I would get your messages but the library only gives you 1 hour at a time for the day. By the time I weeded out all the junk mail, forwards, and answered the emails, the timer was up. I have missed y'all so very much. My heart aches not being able to stay in better touch.
I have several thank yous. Thanks to the Santa Helper for all the Bariatric Advantage Protein package I received on Monday. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, for all the cards, gifts of money, an angel ornament and just for being there for me. The monetary gifts helped me to get my computer and phone back up and running so that I don't have to go to the library. I got tired of having my 3 wheel electric scooter turn over on me when crossing the railroad tracks here in Lebanon.
I am having surgery at Baptist Hospital on January 21st. I have 2 disks in my neck that have herniated. My surgeon Dr. McCord needs a medical clearance from my oncologist as he will be going into my bone marrow to fusion the disks. My oncologist won't write a letter of clearance as he says he's only treating me for Anemia. Wrong. He's treating me for Leukemia. I have only see my PCP here once, and he thinks she should give me the medical clearance. She's not treating me for my leukemia nor does she prescribe my chemo pills. On top of all this, I have to see a Pain Specialists before I can have the surgery because I am on Hydromorphone (Dilada), the pain Dr. I was sent to yesterday couldn't see me yesterday and can only see me on the 9th. I will be in the Morristown area January 7-17th. I have my 2 year weigh-in on the 16th. I head home on the 17th, see the surgeon on that Friday the 18th, pre-register at Baptist and have surgery on the 21st. So we are trying to see if my prior pain clinic Dr. in Morristown will help me since he's the one that put me on the medication and since I have to come to Morristown every three months, I could see him during that time frame.
Sue thanks for the picture from our luncheon in October. I needed that laugh. I'm thinking of putting it on my new profile. LOL Still haven't had my teeth replaced. I miss them even if they were too big. So I am hoping to get them replaced by February.
Annerenee are we going to be able to get together while I am in the area? Let me know.
I would love it if everyone would send me a message of how you are doing, and where you are in your travels of WLS. I know Scott had his surgery, but that's all I know. I did notice so many new people. Please introduce yourself to me and let me know how things are going for you. I will answer my email now that I have the time to sit down and try and catch up with everyone's news.
By the Way, I will be having a new grandchild born in late May. As with my 3 yr old, my son and daughter-n-love don't want to know the sex until it's born. I will love a third grandson, but I am praying to hold a granddaughter.
My pouch burns everytime I eat or drink anything besides milk. I see my GI Dr. the day after Christmas. I've had to go to the hospital for dehydration and found my sugar was down to 40. When it was checked a few days later it was 128. Sounds like the diet control diabeties for the last 2 years is now acting up and I pray I don't have to go back on medicine. I hadn't been able to monitor it lately as medicare would no longer cover by tests strips and lancets for the type of machine I have because the machine is known to not be accurate. I am receiving a new one in the mail. I suspect that I either have an ulcer from the chemo pills causing my pouch to burn or there are errosions. I just know, the only thing going into my system is 2% milk. Even water juice, tea, or crystal light just burns my pouch so much that I am doubled over in agony. Hopefully, we can find out what is going on before I head east.
I need to go. Dr. McCord wants me to go to the ER here in Lebanon to have my neck and back checked where my scooter caused me jar my neck and back like a whiplash. It hurts just holding my head up.
Merry Christmas to all and may the new year be better then the last. All my love Kathy

Hi Kathy,
I am so glad to see your post. I have really been thinking about you. Glad you can keep in touch now. You have been missed.
I am in the process of doing a appeal. Thought I would try on my own before contacting the OH lawyer (Gary)
Hope you have a wonderful Chruistmas & New Years,
Ellen
Hi Ellen, I am just one person, but this board is my support life source and everyone even though they were in my thoughts and prayers daily has shown that they haven't forgotten me and are still there. I too am glad to be able to get back on it. I just hope I will be able to get caught up on all the news and I noticed so many new people. That will keep me busy reading everyone's post. Thank you Ellen.
Merry Christmas with love Kathy

Hi Freddie, thank you, I just noticed you are about to be one year old. Congradulations. It's hard to believe I'll be two years old in January. Time sure has flown this past year with lots of ups and downs. Here's to a terrific Christmas and a better new year for all.
Merry Christmas,
Kathy
