Hi Sue thank you.  It's great to be back.  Y'all were so missed, I felt out of touch with everyone.  I have a lot of postings to read to catch up on everyone.  I figure after my neck surgery on Jan. 21st, I will have plenty of time on my hands as I won't be allowed to drive for 3 weeks, and no housework for a month.  A friend is going to be coming in and helping me on the last one and for the most part transportation takes me to my appointments, but my friend can get me to other places if I need to go somewhere.  My van will just have to get used to someone else driving.  I hate being the passenger in the back seat.  I feel like Guarding Tess when she drives my van as her husband sits up front with her.  It just feels so weird. Merry Christmas Sue and have a wonderful New Year. Love Kathy

Hi Tammy, I noticed you just turn one year old in November.  Congradulations.  How much have you lost so far, are you near your goal or lost more?  I have to admit I don't know too much about Hodgkins Lymphoma stages.  What does 4B mean?  My leukemia is in a semi remission, but if I don't continue taking the pills every day, then it will advance rapidly and I would be dead in less then 2 years.  I'll take the pills.  Better then having to be hooked up to chemotherapy and all the side affects it causes.   You have a Merry Christmas and a happier new year.   Love Kathy

Hi Kathy, I just had my surgery 11/29/07, but I've lost 255lbs so far, 15 of that since surgery.  I had to loose weight to have my surgery at Centennial with Dr. Dyer because I had Medicare.  My BMI had to be 50 or below and my beginning weight was 526lbs.  So I had to get busy and start loosing. Hodgkin's Lymphoma is a cousin to Leukemia and stage 4B is the last stage of the cancer.  Hodgkin's goes side to side as it advances down your body through your lymph nodes, that's how it spreads.  I went through chemo, radiation, more chemo and a stem cell transplant and finally remission.  This all was a HUGE learning experience for me and my family.  I was given an 8% chance of living when I was first diagnoised, but only God knows how long we're going to be here.  Not our Dr's.  So, you keep taking your pill and doing like you are supposed to be doing, cause I do believe that God did give some of them some sense to take care of us...lol.  BTW...I'm still having side affects from all the chemo, especially the short term memory loss....it drives me crazy sometimes not to remember things. Nice meeting you!!!  Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!  Happy New Year too!!

Tammy, you've lost 255 lbs since your surgery or was that the amount you lost prior to surgery? That's a lot to have to lose before surgery.  I am sorry to hear that you are in the last stage of the disease.  Mine is in the blood and bone marrow.  When it's windy or going to rain every bone in my body hurts so bad I can barely get up let alone move around.  God has a reason for me getting Leukemia just prior to being told my surgeon would do my surgery after being denied by 11 surgeons before I was diagnosed.  I'm a work in progress and he's not thru with me yet.  There's a reason why I have to go thru all this and I'm sure he will show me what he wants of me when he's ready.  I have the short term memory loss too, it's embarrassing when I can't remember a person's name or what I was about to say.  I call my next door neighbor Peggy yet her name is Annie.  Peggy is another senior citizen that lived across from me in another apartment before I was moved to a handicap unit.

Well, I need to fix some dinner.  I've been on the go all evening, and was asleep prior to that, so I need to eat.  Oatmeal sounds good with some hot chocolate.  That wind just about blew me over a short while ago.  Reminded me of when I was in the Navy back in 1974/5, trying to salute and hold my hat on at the same time.  I weighed 102 lbs then but wore a size 8-10.  I've 120 lbs now and wearing size small or size 6.  Big difference.  But back then I had an hour glass figure, now I don't, just a straight ironing board.  No but or breasts to help with the figure department.

Merry Christmas, Tammy.  Always here, Kathy

Merry Christmas Darlene.  Thank you, I may have been missed, but I missed this whole board. There are so many new ones on here.  I thought about y'all daily and prayed for this site.  I saw that Scott just had his surgery.  Last I heard he didn't have a date yet.  While I am recuperating from neck surgery in January, I will have plenty of time to catch up on past postings so I can catch up on all the news. Enjoy your holidays Love Kathy
