how long before you can drive
For lap surgery, I've been told 2 weeks and you must be off all pain meds. The 2 weeks is because you are still getting the anesthesia out of your system.

I think it depends on the surgeon and how well you are doing. I was released to drive after 8 days on my first post op appointment. He knew I was off painkillers since the Thursday after my surgery, and everything went well. Now granted, I have no need really to go driving atm, but it's a godsend when my wife has to work and I will have to go to the next week's appointment. So, it will be way over 2 weeks before I venture out of the house
