Bless your heart, honey, and your aunt as well. Tears just coursed down my face as I read your post. I am so sorry for your loss. It is so wrong that obese people are so discriminated against. Donna, I am a Hospice nurse and a certified bereavement facilitator. You were not wrong to ask the Lord to take your uncle home. That is the kindest, most compassionate thing you could have done. You just didn't want him to suffer. Many a time have I prayed for the Lord of all to take a suffering patient home...I even prayed that when my father and later my sister were dying. You and your family are in my prayers.
