Now The Rest of The Story!

Well I've been having a little problem transiting from puree to soft food.  I thought at first it was food texture, eating to fast or not chewing well enough.  I would pay very close attention to texture, eating so slow (a turtle asked me to pick up the pace) and bites so small newborns would be upset!  So saying all that I called in yesterday they said they wanted to see me today at 9:30.  I thought great, I'll get there at 9:30 they would tell me its nothing and I'd go up and see Bamabob everything would be cool!  Well didn't work out that way. Except being there at 9:00, that was the only thing that went as scheduled.  Next thing I knew we were taking Labs at 11:00 and I was in surgery by 1:00. Both Dr. Richards and Dr. Williams went in with the scope and found a stricture which they dilated.  Woke up in recovery and then went up and visited my hero Bamabob. So wanted to let people know they said this occurs in 1 out of 7, so the secret is don't be around more then 6 people and you should be all right! Hahaha! C'ya Bob

So sorry to hear about your stricture. I'm glad they were able to take care of you so quickly though. You've been through it today. Hope tomorrow is better. Blessings, Karen

Glad your OK!   I had 8 of those scopes done before surgery (over  several years), but have been very lucky since.  In fact my swallowing and the dreaded foamies have been no where around.  See, I should have been that 1 person you should hang around!

Cheryl your right, but I had a little coaching from Debbie. Glad I listened to her (did I say that out loud??) because they must have had a cancellation to get me into surgery so quick and it didn't get a chance to get worse. Yea Scott you'll be in my group now! C'ya Bob

Glad to hear they got you taken care of quickly.  I had read that there is no rhyme or reason to who will get a stricture. Someone can do everything right and get one and someone else can do everything wrong and not get one. Sorry you had to be the 1 in 7 to get it. You should have no problems moving forward from here.

Bob Been there/done that.  Got the hospital bill for a 6 day stay to prove it! Yikes!  They found mine two and a half months.  Were you throwing everything up?  I don't remember anything about the dilation except the meds they gave me that knocked me out.  Glad they found it...  now life should be MUCH better, food will go down MUCH easier!  Take care... rest that little tummy.

OK Bob you scare me. Bless your heart. I know that poor Debbie was scared out of her witz. That's that part the frightens me the most. I am taken it slow and easy. I am still on puree's. I do have an e-mail in to Jaime for this. Brian heard the same thing. That until I go see her, stay on purees. After hearing this not a prob. I really hope everything else is do'n fine. I know that Ms. Debbie is like us so dog gone proud of ya!! Take care Barb

I am glad they found the issue. I had the same thing happen to me about a month out of surgery. Take it slow and gradually add back in foods. Thats the best advice they gave me.
