A treat from my husband

Last night while we were shopping at Walmart, I saw something that was mentioned here on one of the boards... a snowcone machine. I had talked to my husband about how I would need to get all my water in after surgery and he knows I have trouble with plain water. He bought it for me and also some suger free syrup. It will be great after surgery. It was about $15 and the syrup was $1.88 for a 20 oz bottle. If you like snowcones and live near a Walmart, this is a great deal. They dont have many flovors of sugar free syrup but you can get Davinci sf syrups online and at grocery stores. Just thought it was worth mentioning. Blessings, Karen

That is an awesome gift!  I bought one at Goodwill...  I use the liquid New Whey Protein Bullets and put them into the snow cone.  There is also a drink called "Cytosport Pure Performance" sold at Vitamin Shoppe...  Watermelon is great!  Orange, so/so.  Tropical (green) ick ick.  Anyway, you can mix your flavors with the ones you have now and it will be great this summer!!! Woo hoo! He sounds like a very special man and supports you a lot.  That is great!

That sounds like a great idea!  And, if you use the protein bullets what a great way to get in your protein! Marilyn

Karen They come in these plastic tubes that remind people of those lab experiment glass tubes, only bigger!  They are clearish plastic and hold 3 oz.  The brand is "New Whey" and they sell them at Vitamin Shoppe and GNC locally.  They come in two strengths of protein grammage if thats a word?! lol Anyway, they come in 23 & 42 g protein each.  Flavors come in grape, orange, fruit punch & blue razberry.  They are kind of thick but if you add a packet of splenda (you might not need splenda, but I liked it better) and then some shaved ice, that would be a great protein drink.  I added a little water to it and had a slushy! You can also add it to jello and make protein jello.

Thanks Melinda, I think we have a GNC here. We used to anyway. I will keep this in mind when the time comes. I'm getting so many good ideas from everyone. I really appreciate it. Blessings, Karen

Karen, that is so cool, good idea from hubby...they have them every now and then........LOL.. You might want to try the Tropicana Sugar Free Orange Ade and Lemonade. The are caffine and carbonated free, I can't get enough of them. They come in the fridge pack like the other cans and they also come in a 2 liter. They give me a break from the mix's, so if you have trouble getting liquid in this will help. I agree with Melinda on the Cytosport drinks, I am a huge watermelon and tangerine fan and I love these drinks. I don't have them often, they are kinda expensive but you can dilute them a little to stretch them out. I told both of my boys that one of them could get me a case of watermelon and the other could get me a case of the tangerine for mother's day. Some might think that is silly, but hey it's for me and I will use it.....lol I have yet to try any of the Davinci's, but I hear they are awesome. Cheryl, I love the Tropicana sf Lemonade and Orangeade. I used to drink it all the time but it got a little expensive. I found something similar at kroger in their sugar free pink lemonade and their diet lemon tea that is caffeine free. Several months ago I gave up carbonated drinks without realizing I was preparing for what will happen after surgery. I hadn't even thought about the surgery then. I just got tired of the carbonated drinks. My subconscious must have been preparing me.  Thanks so much for the ideas. Blessings, Karen

Just a little note WalMart also sells a small selection of the New Whey Bullets I've only seen the 26g there. Had to go to GNC or Vitamin Shop to find a better selection and the 42g. C'ya Bob
