G'morning Lois, Aaaaw, I understand ...and Im sure those that are trying to push the holidays on you, MEAN well, but boy do I know what you're saying. Obviously, it's going to be even more difficult this year, with Cory gone, but hopefully your friends locally will give you the space you need to just "exist" if that's all your up for that day. It's human nature for our friends to want to see us HAPPY and CELBRATING - but hopefully, they also stop to think that its not about "them and what they want" ...its about you and respecting your wishes. I am truly NOT in the holiday spirit but I believe so much in trying so here goes. 1. Do you prefer Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? ~Hot chocolate sf of course 2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? ~A lil' bit of both depending on who they are for 3. Colored or White lights on your tree/house? ~This year lights on the tree (white) and none outside 4. Do you hang mistletoe? ~Not this year 5. When do you put your decorations up? ~Usually day after Turkey day but this year? I barely put up the tree and maybe a handful of decorations 6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? ~Yams 7. What was your favorite Holiday memory as a child? ~Time with family & friends 8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? ~Saw parents putting gifts under the tree 9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? ~Not this year but usually yes 10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? ~Family ornaments and each year one new ornament for each bugga 11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? ~Love it 12. Can you ice skate? ~No desire 13. G'morning Kat - Ive never been much of a Christmas kinda person - in reality, it brings more bad memories then good ones (childhood years) ...but thankfully, I was able to create a lot of FANTASTIC new memories with my son. If Id had no youngin's, I probably would have been thrilled to go to sleep after Thanksgiving and wake up on New Years Eve (can't miss my party, right?) ....but having Keoni helped me to remember that it wasnt about me and how I felt. I'm sure that's what will get you through this holiday, your two little blessings. BUT, in the mean time, when you need to vent or ba'hum-bug the season, this is a safe zone - come vent all you want!
