Hey There my fellow Virginians I realized that I need to get plugged back in here. I need the support of people who have walked in my shoes. I will be almost two years out in April and have had an amazing journey thus far. Do I have any regrets regarding my surgery~~~No, but I wish that I felt like I had more control of what is going on with my body. Prior to surgery I weighed in at 332 pounds and am now down to 117 and holding steady for now. I have been trying to gain some weight back, because I just don't feel 100% AND my PS Dr. won't even consider doing my surgery until I gain some weight. Thanks to alot of your advise I was able to stop the weight loss and have been maintaining for a few weeks now. So, I just wanted to let you all know that you'll be seeing my face around more often!

We will look forward to your posts! Wish I could lose so much weight that they would tell me to stop lol!! I would like to ideally lose 20lbs more - then would be happy to maintain that.... Jackie

Hi Jackie, Lookin' forward to seeing your face around more! You have done an amazing job at losing your weight. You are beautiful! I am sooo happy for you! I am sorry that you are having trouble maintaining enough weight. I know many of us (myself included) have often felt that we would love to have that problem, but I've heard that needing to gain weight and keep it on is as hard for some people as it is for most of us to lose weight and keep it off. I am still pre-op and am curious what you mean by,"I wish that I felt like I had more control of what is going on with my body." I am filled with a million questions as I get closer to actually having my surgery (still waiting for a date, but finally approved). Well, good luck at maintaining! Hugs, Robin

I guess what I meant is that I feel like no matter what i do, I just don't feel 100%. I'm tired alot of the time and I'm sick to death of stuffing my face 24/7 just to keep the weight on. I know that prior to WLS, I never would have thought that I'd be in that 5% that had trouble with losing too much. I hate the fact that I'm complaining about it since there are those that have to struggle to maintain. If I could on;y tolerate some kinds of sweets or starches, then I'd be okay! But all I eat is meat and veggies.

Hey, Jackie, I am so sorry that you are struggling. I am sure that is very disheartening. I wish I had some advice for you, but being pre-op, this is all very foreign to me. My heart goes out to you. I guess your doctor has checked your vitamins, etc. and has made sure all of that is okay and that your thyroid is okay. Don't feel like you are whining. I am willing to listen and be a shoulder to lean on. I wish you all the best, and if you ever need to talk, don't hesitate to email or whatever and I'll give you my number. Good luck! Hugs, Robin

I know it's a pain, but from where I sit, fat as all get out and 1 week from surgery, I think you have what I would call a "high class problem." Maybe you could eat more fat, like creamy stuff (which is my downfall) (cheese? alfredo?)
