Drs. Saba & Elariny
Hi there Hallie-
I went to one of Dr. Elariny's info sessions a few years back. He seemed to know a lot about what he was doing and did a lot of the different types of surgeries. At the time I wasn't ready for the surgery (mentally...wanted to try diet and exercise one more time). Once I was ready, I checked into the surgeons that were available through my insurance (Aetna). Dr. Anez was one of those and I found his method (mini-open RNY) to be attractive for me and he was/is highly regarded in the Bariatric Surgeon field.
SO....hope that helps. I know that there are a few other NoVA surgeons around that do RNY, so you may want to check with your insurance (if you're going to want them to pay for it) and start with that list.

Hi,
Like Christina I went to one of Dr Elariny's info sessions. I really like him and would have used him but my insurance did not cover him. However, I do know several people who did use him and say he is wonderful. He has a good reputation in the Northern VA WLS community.
INOVA FAIROAKS has a good support group that meets the 3rd Monday night of the month. You should visit it before you make a decision.

I am having surgery with Dr Chan as my surgeon. He is in the same office as Dr. Elariny. Dr. Saba is the plastiv surgeon that works with that office. So far everyone in Dr. Elariny's office has been great! They really went the extra mile to get everything done for me when I needed it. My surgery is Friday!
Hallie,
I am one of Dr. Elariny Patients. He is a wonderful doctor. I had my VBG with sleeve on November 15, 2005. I really recommend his support group meetings. I come away with a lot of information. I think he really knows what he is doing.
I am familiar with DR. Saba only because he is in the same office. He is a plastic surgeon with Dr. Elariny.
I don't know anything about the RNY, He goes over all of the operations in his informational meeting. The staff is very good also.
