Just 4 more days.....
I am counting down now. I can not believe that I have gotten this close. I started on this journey in November and March seemed like forever. Now here I am getting ready to start my Clear Diet for pre op. I am not looking forward to that at all. But hey, if that's what it takes I am going to do it for real.
I am open to any and all advice about what to do to prepare my home for my return from the hospital. I thought I was going to have an
but that never happened so I am doing this alone and I am lost. All the tidbits I get comes from reading everyone's posts.
I am scared like crazy and I do not even know what kind of protein shakes taste good. I just want to make sure that I do the right thing with the grocery list.

I will keep up with you and let you know of anything else that can help, also when you are up to it surf www.bariatriceating.com this helped me out alot including the book "Before & After" By Susan Maria Leach. Will Keep in touch Ms. Willie
Necole-
You're not alone! We on the VA board are here for you! Please continue to post and we'll do our best to help you through this journey.
You're going to do great. As for protein shakes...everyone is different, the ones I love someone else can't choke down and vice versa. You should just try several. The site that Ms. Willie gave you offers lots of samples. I personally use Profect Protein Vials (www.protica.com/store) and Unjury (www.unjury.com). Also, once you're back on foods other than soft, I use Power Crunch Protein Bars (several places, you could try them at Vitamin Shoppe before you buy a whole box!).
I'm in Northern Virginia, so if you run into an emergency and need some help, let me know...I'll help as much as I can (I'm having gallbladder surgery on 4/3).
We're all your

Thank you so much. You guys made my day. I was sitting here struggling with this clear diet thing and laughing to myself about how silly I am being. I keep telling myself that I am in charge.
I am on a clear diet when I get home for a week and then we will go from there. I am having my gallbladder removed as well when I have my WLS. Christina, I wish you the best of health with your surgery.
To all of my supportive
on the VA board, thank you for being here. I will keep you posted

Necole, it is completely normal to be overwhelmed & scared. You are not alone, we are here for you. Where are you having surgery at? Will you be on a pureed diet or a liquid diet when you come home? This will affect what you should have on hand to eat. Definitely get some cleaning done because if the house is dirty you will want to clean and you probably won't feel like it for a few days. Have some comfy clothes to wear, noting tight on the tummy. As for protein shakes, everyone likes something different and you may find that your tastes change after surgery. My suggestion is to order some samples. Some good websites to try are www.vitalady.com, www.unjury.com. Get a bunch of different flavors that you can mix with water or milk. Make sure you pack your chapstick & a pillow for the ride home (to cushion your belly). Any more questions feel free to ask. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
