I cheated on my pre op clear diet....

I couldn't take another jello or crystal light moment. I was hungry and actually I still am hungry. I am scared to death to tell my surgeon that I ate a bagel this morning. He is strict and may cancel my surgery tomorrow. Please tell me someone else has cheated previously and things went ok. No I am not trying to advocate cheating on the clears but I sure would hate to reschedule.

Well to be honest many of us never had a pre-op liquid diet and we survived but I am sure your surgeon wanted to shrink your liver to make surgery easier for both of you so he may be pretty mad if you tell him - but it should be out of your system by tomorrow. However you ate a carb which means you will crave more carbs and if you give into that craving you will binge - and your surgeon will know as soon as he goes in - and if he is as strict as you say he may consider stopping then. So please, please stop here- tomorrow is nearly here and then it won't matter.... Good luck! Jackie

Thank you Jackie. I do feel a little better. You are so right because I am truly craving carbs. It's just so hard because I am diabetic and when I crash, I panic and eat everything in sight. I am going to do the jello thing and know that it won't kill me.

Just follow what the doctor said about liquids and you should be able to keep your blood sugar levels where they need to be for one more day. I was diabetic and after surgey I never took any more diabetic medication and my levels are better than normal now! It will be all over soon and you will be on the healthier losing side! Jackie

Hey Necole. I am sorry to hear that you are struggling today. A lot of it is probably nerves. Hopefully everything will pass through and you won't have to reschedule. If you get the urge to eat again try doing something else like taking a walk, start a book, clean something, anything to take your mind off of the food. Necole, Hang in there - YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! You've come so far and are so close to beginning your new, healthy, bikini clad life! Next time you feel the urge to eat something that you're not supposed to, browse through your closet instead and know that you'll soon be replacing those hangers with smaller numbers! Always does it for me...I dream of shopping in normal stores and the regular misses department at Macy's!! Stay strong - it's just a few short hours until your journey begins and you don't want to miss that trip for anything....you've worked far to hard to get here! Thank you Michelle, I have you know that I shop at Macy's now in the Plus Size...( do they have to emphasize the plus) Department. So don't wait until you reach your goal weight, go now and shop for what you want. I mean I only wear a size 2 so I can shop anywhere that I want....only my 2 is married to an X and 2X go hand in hand. I'm just kidding around lik I always do.
