Again, thanks to all that have prayed and held my neice in your thoughts, you will NEVER know what that means to me. I am unable to respond to everyone at this point, just too much going on....but I wanted to update everyone..... Michelle went in for surgery this afternoon to have a piece of skull removed so her swelling brain had a place to go. She did fine throughout the surgery, and when she was finished with surgery the Dr said the swelling went down slightly. This is the most critical of her injurys, the rest are fixable. The next few days will tell the tale, and the Dr's are talking in terms of weeks at this point rather than days. If this week goes well, we will look to the next week, and so on and so forth. They had to take 2 places of skull out of her head, and they said they may not be able to replace them for 3-4 months.......and that she may be in the hospital upwards of a year. She is still a critical patient, so the more prayers the better.......She is no where out of the woods In one of my Dads hospital stays, he was passed on a bible quote from a friend of the family (And if anyone has heard of this, please explain it to me) Apparently it has to be passed on from a male to a female and vice versa......if you have been priveleged to recieve this *gift* you can say this phrase over the sick, and it will help heal them. He has the *gift* as passed on to him, and he wanted to say it over Michelle, but didnt have the exact words. The words are from EZECHIEL 16:6......*Then I passed by and saw you weltering in your blood. I said to you "Live in your blood and grow like a plant in the field* Ok, so I went into verse 7 so it makes a bit more sense...but has anyone heard of this *gift*?? Apparently if you say these words over the wounded......you get the picture, I am rambling at this point........ With that, I think I am going to the crash site tomorrow....I need to see where my baby almost lost it.........and she IS MY BABY....I helped raise her when her mother left....I was with her LOTS when she was younger......me, my sis, my mom, lots of strong females in her life........so she HAS to pull through.....right??? Sorry, rambling again... Love and Kisses to all Dianna

Gosh Dianna..my heart goes out to you and your family. These were always the most devestating traumas to get in when I was a nurse in the ER. All of you guys have been in my prayers. Hang in there and pull together as a family. She is getting the best care in ICU ..the flap does allow the brain to swell since the skull would not expand with it..and she is also getting an IV medication to decrease her brain swelling as much as possible. If you ned anything I am here... Big Hugs, Dana

Hi Sweetie....You and Michele are still in my prayers. I know that this is going to be a long journey for her but she is young and when they are this age, they do amazing things. If she is strong like her Aunt Di, she will survive this with your help. Keep me updated and I love you. Hugs, Betsy

Dianna, glad to hear the surgery went well and seems to have helped at this point. Hopefully by now you have had a chance to get some much needed rest. You are a strong family and that will help her with her strength. Remember to take care of yourself too, water, vitamins, food, rest. You will need your physical strength to help her. Continuing to think about you all and prayers coming your way. Courtney
