I think I'm still in shock!
Although I was trying to be very patient, I decided today to check with the insurance company just to see if any decision had been made on my case (I got denied last week because they needed one more letter from my PCP saying I was 'fit' for surgery - had that done in record time!). Well, I just got off the phone with them and was told "I'M APPROVED"!!
It's hard to believe that after thinking about this for several years, and working my way through yet another diet (my insurance company required the 6-month physician supervised routine) that this new chapter in my life is finally going to be a reality! And, the bonus is that my husband (who has been supportive of my decision, but never really 'on board') is actually excited about this for me and 100% on board now.
Tomorrow, I'll call Dr. Anez's with the news and get the pre-work and testing scheduled...I can't believe that in the next few months so much will change for me --- and for the better!
I'm so glad another WLS patient (one of my clients) directed me here...you have all been such an inspiration to me, and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can't wait for my next post (the "I have a date" one) and for those that will undoubtedly follow as I make this journey. Know that everything that you share, especially to those like me, who are just at the beginning of this wonderful journey is more valuable than we can ever say. Thanks for being part of this for me.
I'm going to try to come back down to earth enough to grill some chicken for dinner! Thanks for letting me share...Have a great evening!!

Chele,
Congratulations!
It always feels so good to hear those words... dealing with insurance companies can be a harrowing ordeal.. I'm glad you got through it unscathed....
Welcome to the next step of your journey!!!
You're in good hands here... We may have opinions that differ sometimes... but for the most part we are good people!
Have a great rest of the week... before you know it you'lll be post-op and looking back at this post and smiling...
