Newbie
Hi everyone, I am new here, and it is going to take me a WHILE to learn the site (sorry).
I found it just by doing some searching.
I was looking up support groups and info on weight loss surgery.
I am a little over 100 lb over weight, have been for 7 years now.
I am 33, married for 11 years, and a SAHM to 2 great boys.
I have PCOS (for 7 years now).
Are there any support groups that meet in Hampton?
Looking forward to hearing form all of you!

Hello
Welcome to the site. There is a vast amount of information here. Take it slow and enjoy the reading. We talk about everything from WLS to personal stuff. It's become quite a tight nit family. Just like any family, we have tifts from time to time, but it usually passes. I live in VA Beach and I know there are support groups all over Hampton Roads. We as a group of HR'ers get together at least once a month for dinner and fun. I post here about it, so keep your eyes out.
Welcome aboard!

I live in Hampton as well, and I was wondering the same thing. It crossed my mind to contact the Sentara complex to see if maybe they knew where various Bariatric support groups are held through out Hampton. I'm going to be attending a support group tonight in Portsmouth at the Naval Medical Center. It's my first support group. Portsmouth I know is a little far to travel . My Surgeon Dr. Chasternet is at the PNMC. When you locate a support Group in Hampton please let me know and vice versa!
Hampton, huh????
Well, there is a WONDERFUL support group at Sentara Complex. Next meeting is at 7:00pm and the topic is: Proteins, Carbs and Weightloss.
I'm not sure if it is strictly for Dr. Clak/Terricina's patients or not. Suzie at the Careplex can tell you for sure. I don't have her number here at work, but you can look it up on the internet.

Hello and welcome
I can not speak on support groups in the Hampton area but I can tell you that you have chosen one hell of a virtual support group. Keep posting questions and you will get responses. You can also get a lot of information from reading the questions and answers of others.
Also you can continue to search the site for informtion on WLS and surgeons in your area.
Good luck to you.
Necole
