Hey Montego, Mine does the same thing. I hiccup a lot now too. As soon as I start to eat something, my stomach starts making all these weird noises. It's almost like it's talking to me! It cracks me up! I don't know if it is normal or not, but it seems to be very common (at least among the new post ops) - there was a post similar to this on the March 2007 board recently. Continued Success, Robin

Tell me about it. See it is saying something now... It is embarissing because it is loud. My husband just laughs. I saw the post but I wanted to ask some veterans about this too. Montego

Say hi to the aliens in your stomach Mo. Definitely a normal occurence for us. Mine does it a lot first thing in the morning, right after lunch, & when I lay down at night for bed. I believe the prevacid is to help because of the healing of the nerves, damage to the new pouch and such. I had to take it also. Courtney

Hey Court, so it does get better with time... This was starting to worry me a little bit.

It does get somewhat better as you heal but I still get the noisy sounds some. For the most part you learn to accept it and don't notice it. It is the people around you who don't know that it disturbs sometimes. Courtney

Minette, You are too much! When we first got married, my husband was diagnosed with diabetes and one of the medications he takes often results in the "dreaded gas"...I tell him it's a good thing that I love him. Maybe after next month he'll be saying the same thing about me !! I guess what goes around, comes around! Gotta love it.. Thanks for a great chuckle this afternoon - I needed it! Hugs, Chele

Hi Mo - Welcome to the world of WLS surgery lol!! I sometimes think I have a brass band in my stomach! Mine gurgles exactly when I don't want it too - ater I eat, after i drink - it is like gowling its approval at being fed!! I won't even go into the morning fanfare with the gas lol!! I can trumpet for America then! I used to take prevacid just after surgery - just for a month - they give you that for stomach acid until your pouch can handle the little we now have on its own... This thread has given me a good laugh this afternoon too - I forget I am not the only one with gas and a vocal stomach! There is no way of shutting up your stomach I am afraid - it just likes to remind you it is there... Jackie
