Hi all- As the weather starts to get warmer (or at least hopefully!), I find myself wanting to have some iced tea in place of my water. For some reason I think I remember being told that it wasn't the best choice...but I can't remember why. Can anyone tell me if tea is ok? I'm thinking the caffiene and/diuretic (sp) effect is probably what we should avoid....any truth to that? Thanks in advance for your help! Christina S

Hi Christina, I was told by my Nut that caffeine was no good early out but once you have your fluids up to a good level regularly, some caffeine is ok. You can also buy decaf tea bags and brew your own...that Mr Coffee Iced Tea maker is AWESOME! It is under $20 and you add the tea, splenda, and fruit if u want (i usually use lemons but have also thrown other fruits into the basket) and the fruit and sweetner brews into it. Christine

I do decaff tea all the time Ive not been told I cant. Only caffiene was told to stau away from. I drink hot tea in the mornings in place of decaf coffee some days.

Christina I also use the Mr Coffee Ice Tea Maker, it is great. I buy the Decaf Tea bags and make that, I like to make the tea, and then add the splenda to my glass as I fix a glass, I find that the Splenda when added to the picture all at once it seems to settle at the top, so I just buy the small individual packets and add as I fix. My Surgeons office recommended the tea. Keith

Hey Christina. You pretty much got the same info from everyone that I was going to give you. Decaf should be fine. If you do regular, limit it to like one a day and make sure to counteract it with extra water (what I was told by one of the nurses). Courtney
