18 Months and I DID IT!!!!!!!
Yesterday, I went in for my 18th month check up. Actually, 18 months and 1 week, but anyways...........
I go in and everyone is awed by how healthy and great I look. The nurse, she is SUCH a sweetie, is SO happy and proud of how well I have done that she brags to my doc about my workouts with the personal trainer (she is there for some of them) and how well I am doing and how much of an inspiration I am to some of the ladies in the office who are either losing or have had surgery, etc. He beems from ear to ear. She tells me later that he is not an emotional person and for him to do that means that he actually feels like I am a success story. She wants me to speak at one of our support group meetins, but I'm not sure yet. Any ways..............
She shows me my before picture, and I do not even recognize the person in the picture. I recognize the person in my 1 year photo, but not the before. It's AMAZING! I found out that my starting weight was 265, not 263 as I thought it was. Which means that I have lost 2 more pounds than what I thought I had lost.
We talk about my next goal - to become more compact - and she laughs. why???? Right now I am 24% body fat - HA! That's it. there really isn't any place left to become "more compact". Even my trainer has a slightly high % of body fat than I do. And once I have the excess skin off of my tummy removed, that percentage will drop a bit.
Because I workout so much - running, Turbo Jam (fitnes boxing), Personal trainer and now my Total Gym - she wants me to increase my carb intake a bit more. Told her that I would try, but we both know that it willbe a bit difficult.
I've started losing again. in fact, i've lost 24 pounds over the past 6 months (since my 1 year check-in), so she wants me to increase my calories a bit, too. Currently I intake:
Calories: 950 - 1150
Carbs: 65 - 75 grams (not net) = 22% - 25% of calorie intake
Protein: 110 - 125 grams = 50% - 60% of calorie intake
She said that with my workouts as hard as they are, and the fact that I burn (on average) 500+ calories per workout (5 - 6 days a week) that she wants me to get in more to compensate and to avoid losing too much (ha! too much. Who would have thunk it???).
We talked about grazing, my down fall - which I have to watch like a hawk. Relationships with friends, spouses and loved ones and how this really does change things.
But - the bottom line, was she said that I have exceed their expectations, that I'm doing wonderful and oh...........
I HIT 100% OF EXCESS WEIGHT LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's 130 pounds of weight lost!!!!!!!!
Now, I do not want to lose anymore, but if I was to lose 2.5 more pounds I would lose me! HAHA - Seriously, I would have lost the amount of weight that I would weight. How bizarre is that???????
Now....off to maintain!!!!!!!!!!!
