First let me say hello, My name is Valerie, I've been on the board for a few months. I am having a problem with my health care provider CIGNA. I was told that they do NOT cover WLS at least not the plan my company has. DOES ANYONE know a way around that. I've been researching WLS for the past 4 years I NEED to have this surgery done. I saw a primay Doctor who highly recommends my having WLS can anyone give me some Advice as to how I can fight this with Cigna. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have your insurance company but I have seen here that a rider is usually needed if the plan does not cover WLS. You may want to try the insurance help forum here on OH. Good luck! Jen

I would ask your benefits administrator to look further into it . They may be able to purchase a rider for you . And they may cover it , but have stipluations . Just go to them and tell them you must have this surgery and see what they can do to get you the rider . Best wishes to you .. and please count on us for our support ! Natalie
