Calcium Citrate
I've got a question. Has anyone tried or looked into these Calcium Citrate SoftGel Capsules that are supposed to be fast absorbing? I'm wondering if they dissolve fast enough for us to absorb them. I've found some decent chewables, but boy it would nice if I could just swallow something for once. Even sublingual would be better.
Thanks,
Amber
I haven't tried the soft gels and just saw the sublingal at Walmart today when I stocked up on my protein bars. The CNP at teh surgeons ofc told me to take my iron and calciums with OJ, the Vitamin C aids in the asborbtion. She also told me about a multi-vitamin that has iron and vitamin C but I haven't found that in my area so far.
I also cut my calcium in half . They haven't gotten stuck since I do that and I take 2 at a time twice a day,...well the walgreens brand I have at work anyways. I have the Calcium Citrate petites at home; I don't half them,..cause they're so,...petite. I do use a sublingal liquid super B Complex from Walgreens. It helps with my energy.
good luck with the softgels or sublingal if you get brave enough to try them. Be sure to post the results, espcially if they are any better than the pills.

Hey Joe, thanks for the suggestions. I'd love to be able to take the Calcium petites but my Nut says we'll never be able to swallow any of our vitamins regularly because we don't absorb them fast enough, that's why everything has to be liquid or chewable. I thought maybe these softgels would be different because they are liquid inside the softgels and they are "quickly absorable" so I don't know. You found a sublingal Calcium Citrate? Or did I read that wrong?
Thanks for the info,
Amber
Hey Amber,
My surgeon said to try "Calexcel" it's a liquid calcium, it's sugar free and taste pretty good, it say's to take 2 tablespoons at a time but the doctor told me to take 1 tablespoon full 3 times a day...I get it at Ecerd's....it's way better then those huge horse pills...chewable or not, there gross.....
Good luck with whatever you try...

Hey, Amber!
I use the UpCal D powder. Put a tiny scoop in any fluid and swig it down. Tasteless and 500 mg of citrate is down the hatch.
I get it from www.vitalady.com - the tub has over 200 doses in it.
