Dr. Amy Elizabeth Martin

Ok, I know she left Commonwealth surgeons. I can totally understand her need to move and stuff. I find myself not wanting to go to another doctor though. I Really respected her and trusted her. I really dislike going to doctors, It took me a long time to trust and like her, now she is gone and I am left feeling confused as to what to do. I find myself not wanting to go to another doc period. I actually have been feeling rebelious. I have a deep issue with trust and it carries on to all aspects of my life. I talked to Mary today about my 9 month appt. I am still not sure if I am even going to go. Sounds silly but I needed to vent.

Shelly , yes trust is a major issue in all of this . Please remember you must be seen by someone through out your journey . It is so detrimental to your success and to your health . I had DR. Hutcher ... and I love him .. I also adore Barbara Keyes , his nurse practioner that assist him . She too is very caring and understanding . And I truly think you would love her . My suggestion would to be to give her a chance .. and if you do not like the experience , try to find someone in your area .. or maybe at MCV . But you must be seen during this most crucial time . Hi Shelly, I know if my surgeon left I would be devastated too but I know I would have to get over it pretty quick and find another surgeon. It is alright to pout for a while but we have been surgically altered and therefore we need to have someone who understands out new internal structure. So, although I know how you feel, the best thing to do would be to look for someone else or see who she recommeneds to take care of her former patients. And then always remember how great she was and what a great influence she was to you. Good luck! Jackie

Hi shelly. I understand what you are going thru. I don't like dr's either but I found a wonderful dr. He is based out of Roanoke, his name is Dr. Bruce Long. He and his staff are wonderful.
