Intimacy after WLS..

Okay people, My Hubby and I share a very passionate and intimate life. I know this may sound a lil absurd but, how soon can you resume being intimate after WLS. I know we both enjoy it on a regular and I don't want him to feel deprived or neglected during the time I'm recovering. Maybe this is the least of my worries and I shouldn't even be thinking about this. Can someone please share your thoughts or experiences in moderation. Maybe it would give us an idea on what to anticipate? Thanks Tiawna

Really, you'll be in pain and uncomfortable during recovery so won't even think about sex. My husband and I were bunnies before the surgery, but for the six weeks it took me to recover (not typical, don't panic, I broke my stitches doing too much too soon, had a feeding tube from complications, etc), I wasn't in the mood and he was so worried about me that sex was farthest from his mind. And when I was ready and able to again, there was less in the way so he was happy he waited and so was I. It was very, um, intense. I had never realized how much weight had interrupted our lovemaking until then. Anyway, don't be scared. It'll be a little while but be patient and don't do too much before the dr gives the all clear or you'll be like me, with reopened stitches and longer recovery. WHEW! THAT WAS A LOT TO DIGEST! HMM! I'm hoping that everything is going well for you now? Thanks for sharing your experience because, this has truly been weighing on my mind a lot lately. I will be very obedient and don't plan on doing anything that is going to extend my recovery. I'm an on- the-go girl, and the sooner I can get back on -the -go after recovery will be better for me. This has put a lot in perspective for me! You are so awesome and brave for sharing this experience. I dearly appreciated it!

Doctors instructions were to wait until I was comfortable. For me (us), that was at about 10 days out, maybe less. Just go easy, ya know?

I had NO sex drive right after WLS but after I had my C-section we got back to business my first day back home !!! As soon as you feel up to it !!! Just remember that birth control !! Wouldn't that suck to end up pregnant right after WLS !!! hahahaha Dana

Well my doc said to wait at least two weeks. I waited exactly two weeks even though I felt up to it before hand. Definitely enjoying it moreso now after the weight loss. Courtney

You Guys are one of the most phenomenal group of people I have ever encountered. I really appreciate your support and advice on intimacy after WLS. Dana thanks for the BC reminder, however my Hubby and I are finished having children, somewhat permanently (Tubal). That's one less thing on my agenda to check and balance before WLS.
