I got the date for my 1st appt.

Hi all! I got a call from Dr. Schirmer's office today. They had a cancellation for June 7th and wanted to know if I wanted it!!! My original date was August 2nd so of course I said yes

They said to expect to be there all day. Can you all tell me what all to expect on that first visit and about how long after that does it usually take to get the surgery? Yeah !!

WOW! That's great! Ok - what to expect......I asked ALOT of questions during my 1st appointment. I wanted to make sure that we were both comfortable with the decision I was making. And my doc was wonderful about it. He took his time to explain everything to me. They also took pics, did vitals and stuff like that. My doc had a seminar which explained the procedure, but he went over that as well. As far as how long - that depends on you, your doc and your insurance approval. Your doc may want some thing done before he will perform the surgery, and your insurance may take a while to approve. But - good luck with everything and relax! Jill

That is so awesome Nancy!!! Congrats!!! It is a big step but I would do it all over again in a heart beat. I have my life back and it's only been 3 months. I'll be cheering for you!!! Let us know how it goes. Anna
