I was just wondering why do our bodies stall? I am 8 weeks tomorrow I have so far lost 40 lbs. Now, I am just on stand still since last week. Why does that happen. I could be on a roll and now nothing. It is kind of depressing. Trust me I am so so grateful for the 40 lbs lost but I thougt it would have been more at 8 weeks post op. I have read different post and some people have lost 50 plus pounds in 8 weeks. I understand that we are all different but "DANG".... Why does this happen????? Mo

I don't have a set goal just yet. I just want to get out of the 200 sooo bad. So I have weekly goal until I get to 199. I am now 219... Mo

Mo- I was told that our bodies stall in order to catch up a bit. You have nothing to worry about at 8 weeks out...you'll start losing again soon enough. Have you tried checking out the forum for your month/year here on OH? My July 2006 board was and continues to be a great source of information for what others that are as far out as I am are going through. I can tell you that most of u**** a stall around the same time and then they broke again around the same time (give or take). Our bodies are amazing....let it work...do your part and all will be fine. Christina S

Christina, I don't know how you do it - you are always soooo very positive and inspirational. I always read your comments because you really are the "voice of reason", and I appreciate your willingness to share your wisdom very much. So thanks for being there for all of us! , Robin

Mo, our bodies stall in order to be able to catch up with what has been going on in them. Instead of weight you usually lose some inches so if I was you, I would measure myself again and see if you have lost some inches. This early on it is a good thing to stall and lose some more inches! Jsckie

OK Mo, snap out of it girl...I have 1 question for ya...when have you ever (I dont care what diet you went on) lost 5 pounds per week for 2 months straight! That's what your 40 pounds in 8 weeks is so go on and give yourself a big ole pat on the back and relax. Don't worry...it's going to happen...promise! At my 2 month weigh in, I was down 39.5 and now at 11 months tomorrow, I have lost 103. It will come off. Keep workin it! Christine 253/150/158/134 start/current/surgeon's goal/my goal
