Sounds like you are doing great so far in your journey Carei. Just try and remember everything happens for a reason. Keep up on those phone calls. No one likes a squeaky wheel. Courtney

Hey, o are making some great progress. I started in March 06 and got approved in AUg 06 for sugery in Sept, 26, 06. I thought I was going to explode before it ever happened. I had a hear tcondition and seemed to be the only person concerned about whether I was going to be around long enough to have the surgery to get better. I was quite a ride. I had to have 6 months of medically supervised diet and exercise to be approved and changes from the first surgeon I saw because I was so unimpressed. I loved the second one I saw but had to do all of the oritentation and preliminary evaluation stuff all over again. After the Pysch eval and the surgeon submitting my paperwork I got approved in about two weeks. Man, it felt like the world was lifted off my shoulders I was so happy and relieved. Sounds like you are really really close. Just remember to breath. It will happen for you. Then you can post to share with us about your jubilation and we will cheer with you.

Congrats on finishing the hoops! It's a long journey with NSG before you ever get a date. Lola will get to you as soon as she can. You have to remember that she is handling a huge number of patients! Once you get approved, she will pass your chart to Becky, who schedules the surgeries. From what I understand, they are not scheduling until late in the summer or early fall right now. I wish you luck in getting a date as soon as possible. I struggled with the long wait too - even considered changing groups at one time. But I am so glad that I stuck with Dr. Wohlgemuth - he is awesome, and I am doing great at 6 weeks post op. Take Care, Robin

thanks you 3 for your information! i finally heard from jeanette yesterday and she told me that i have to go back to the psych for another test. they sure do a lot of tests. she said the psych was supposed to call me but they haven't so i called them and left a message. i didn't figure i'd get in for surgery til july or august... i just want to finish what i have to do cuz i thought all i had left was the EGD. this was the first i heard about a psych test. robin i met you at at vb health support group last month. you were only about 2 weeks out at that time i think. i remember you said your kids said you looked different already. i realize they have a lot of patients... i just want to be doing something

I remember you now! I know the feeling about wanting to be doing something very well. It often feels like it is the hurry up and wait game. It's soooo very hard to be patient because once we decide we are ready to take this step, we want to do it NOW (or yesterday ). I was the same way, believe me. You'll get there, probably not as fast as you want to, but it is so worth the wait. I am so happy now that I am losing weight (35 pounds gone forever!) and starting feel more confident again. I can't wait for you to join me! Good Luck, Robin

well i called the psych dr. and she says i'm good to go. i don't need anything else with her besides switching from zoloft to zymbalta over a two week period before having WLS. does anyone know what this test was jeanette could have been talking about? i was going to call her but the psych dr. told me she's out of town and when she returns she will receive her letter saying i am "good to go" and can someone enlighten me on this EGD business?
