HELP!!
Hi Patrice. Welcome to the board. So are you interested in surgery information or a weight loss doctor who can help without surgery? I am sure someone can recommend a great therapist. I am not too familar with any, the one I have heard about who is really good, in the Reston area, I can't remember his name. Check with the Fairfax Community Services Board also for therapist.

Hi Patrice-
The counselor I would have recommended just went on sabbatical for a few months!
If you need nutrition counseling, the nutritionist that Dr. Anez uses has a new office, but I'm sure his office could give you her new contact information (ask for Sally if you call his office).
Hope that helps!

Hello Patrice-
I'm 5' 1" and over 200lbs. as well. I began researching WLS almost a year ago. My surgeon said that 70-80% of Americans are over weight and only 3% of those people are able to lose all of their excess weight and keep it off. So I knew that my chances of losing all of the weight and keeping it off would be very slim. So I decided to get the GBP-RNY. I'm not telling you this to discourage you from losing the weight on your own, however to challenge you. If you're really interested in beating the odds you are going to have to give it all you got and don't give up! Also I know you said that you were new to the area, if you've found a PCP he/she may have a good nutritionist that can help get you started. If you're possibly interested in WLS you can look for surgeons on here for your area and once you find one, do another post asking if any of his/her patients have comments or info on that particular surgeon and staff or a good program, nutrition psyh, etc. Please understand that no matter which way you choose to lose, there is work and sacrifice involved. Everyone on this site is extremely nice and more than willing to help you! Goodluck and God bless!
