Plastics consult done
Hi Nat
This consult wasn't free for me. I had to pay. Only my copay, but still I had to pay. I am thinking of calling my gastric bypass surgeon's office to see if they can refer me to someone else. Question is ...The PS I saw yesterday is submitting the paperwork to insurance by today or tomorrow, if medicaid approves me for what he wants to do...am i stuck with that doc? Or can I switch docs? I really want the full abdominoplasty, I believe I would benefit from it better than the panniculectomy, but the more i think about it the more i am like ..would i benefit from not even having the surgery done..that is a clear NO...and i would settle for the panni only...but i dont wanna settle..i want it all! i deserve it all! I have worked hard to get here and i want to feel better physically and mentally.
Hugs

P.S. How is your mom Nat and how are you doing after your surgery?? Luv ya girl
First , Most plastic surgeons do not charge a consult fee . I would start looking for another surgeon regardless if Medicade pays. You can always start the progress over . But be ready to show your medical necessisty .
I would venture out from where you are for plastic surgeons . If you could get up here to NOVA there are so many wonderful surgeons here .
A Panni removal in my opinion for people such as yourself and myself is a waiste of time and good money . With drastic weightloss you are going to have skin in both the upper and lower abs. Why not get it all ?
Do not settle . Start doing your homework and find other qualified PS in your area .. or like I said look up here in NOVA .
Thanks for asking about my Mom . It is a very sad day. She has gone septic , and she is not responding to the medication they are giving her . She is still on the vent .. I just keep praying at this point . I leave in the morning to go down to meet with her doctors . Just keep praying .
Take care .. and best to you on this .

Hi Nat
Sad to say i had ventured away from where I live, I traveled to Charlottesville..a 4 hour trip for me. I do want all I can get done done...but will only be able to financially afford what my insurance will pay. I have loads of documentation from my medical doctor, weight loss surgeon, and now this ps has documentation also. I don't think I will have a problem with the documentation part of it. I am thinking of contacting my weight loss surgeon and seeing if they can refer me to someone that will accept my medicaid. Or maybe I should wait to see this other doc at the UVA. I am not sure. what is your opinion on that?
Nat..I am keeping you and your mom and family in my prayers. I know how hard it is to have your mom sick. Tell her how much you love her each and every day. I miss my mom so much and know the pain all too well of when she was so ill. Please know my heart goes out to you during this time. If you need anything please don't hesitate. Email me anytime [email protected]
Hang in there sweetie
