Women's Challenge
Welcome to the WOMAN Challenge!
The Challenge begins TODAY!
Each week, think about your current level of daily physical activity and challenge yourself to be more active by setting a higher goal for the next week.
Your team will be moved along the virtual route according to whether the amount of physical activity each team member logs each day meets or exceeds their personal weekly goal.
If you and each of your team members meet your goals every day of the week, your team will be moved to the next point on the virtual route.
If all of your team members do not meet their goals every day, but do log some physical activity each day, your team will be moved half-way to the next point on your virtual route.
If any of your team members do not record any activity on one or more days of the week, your team will not be moved along your virtual route that week.
Remember - you can log the physical activity you did for the entire week all at once - just choose one day each week to login on the website and transfer the information from your paper tracking log.
Check out the Bonus Challenges page for information on opportunities to make up for days when you may not have met your goal.
If you registered to measure your activity in minutes or miles, you do not need a pedometer. Just estimate the distance or time you spend each day being physically active.
If you registered to measure your activity in steps and you do not already have your own pedometer, pedometers are widely available and are relatively inexpensive (check out the selection at your local sporting goods store or department store). If you are unable to purchase a pedometer, you can change your measurement option from steps to minutes or miles. Just login to the MY Challenge section of the website (www.womenshealth.gov/woman) to update your profile.
We're so glad that you've taken this important step towards achieving a healthy lifestyle! Good luck!
